About Brian’s journey
Brian was adopted into a dysfunctional family where things were unpredictable and often erratic. This led to a dysregulated nervous system and being perpetually in a ‘fight or flight’ state. He employed a host of both numbing out and adrenalising behaviours/developed some unhealthy coping mechanisms to try and cope with overwhelming, unprocessed emotions.
15 years ago he began his Hero’s Journey of recovery from addictive behaviours, which were but a symptom of feelings of abandonment and a sense of not being good enough/wanted. Growing up gay at a time when it was still illegal componded his deep seated feelings of shame and forced him to create a false-self. He learnt to be invisible and to stay small. From a young age he was a seeker of all things healing/nurturing in a quest to cultivate becoming his own loving parent and to heal the deep wounds and ancestral/ intergenerational trauma.
The first time he practised Reiki on a friend 25 years ago and the results that ensued confirmed to him that he was on the correct path as a healer and nurturer. He felt energy and deep movement whilst working on the person´s abdomen and his hands felt stuck to that area on the body.
Music has always played a huge part in his healing process, and in particular Sean Nos singing as it called him home to the mysticism of pagan Ireland. Singers such as Sinead O’Connor proved at times a lifeline, demonstrating that healing could be achieved/attained in a variety of ways and could be attainable/possible for all.
Nature has also been an instrumental part of Brian’s regeneration, the sights and sounds of the rugged Irish landscape providing nourishment and grounding, evoking all of the senses. His fascination with rituals is evident in his treatments, with touch, sound, and smell/scent all playing a big part as he helps guide you/each person home, to the safety and stillness of your/their own body.
My Approach
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Dream it
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
Build it
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
